I plan to keep on posting mono or biweekly updates with a quote of the day or a fashion/beauty review. I would like to have more outfit of the day posts as well, because I think that is more personal and will explain who I am more than reviews of products.

beauty rush, lotion, victoria's secret

I love the Beauty Rush products at Victoria’s Secret. They’re sweet, girly scents like Cotton Candy and Honey Do. My favorite lotion is Juiced Berry. It smells so good it actually makes me thirsty, I guess that’s why they describe it on the back as a body drink. I usually get tired of the scents I have, but I have had the Juiced Berry lotion for years, and I have never gotten sick of the fruity scent. It’s really fresh and I like to put it on after a shower. It’s not greasy or thick, it’s a great lotion to try.

Conditioner, how to shave, shaving, shaving cream, shaving emergency

If you are like me, or how I used to be, you probably try to savor every bit of your shower gel or shaving cream because you fear you will run out of it and not have anything to shave with. Well have no fear! My last semester at college, I remember I was at the gym with a couple of my friends talking about beauty and fashion. They shared a tip with me that I am very glad I learned. They told me that when they don’t have any shaving cream or lotion around, they use hair conditioner! After all my years of reading Cosmopolitan and Teen Vogue and watching the Style Network, I had never heard of this!! I was so excited that when I went home I tried it out.

When you put the conditioner on your skin, it basically creates a silky soft barrier over top your skin which helps the blade glide more smoothly. This prevents any irritation like razor burn or cuts (I have only cut myself a couple times when using conditioner). After the shower, my skin feels super smooth because the conditioner sinks into my skin while I am shaving. The only downside I can think of is that the scent of conditioner doesn’t always smell as sweet and nice as shaving gels that come in many scents and usually last a while. I would recommend this method to anyone who shaves. If you run out of lotion or soap or shaving cream, don’t forget about your hair conditioner!

Quote of the Day:

feminism, feminist, QOTD, quote of the day, this is what a feminist looks like

Quote of the Day:

Many people have the wrong idea about what being a feminist means. Being a female blogger, I think it’s my job to explain to women everywhere that being a feminist is not a BAD thing. Let’s set this straight once and for all!

Being a feminist is about women and men having equal opportunities in life. People who do not understand feminism tend to think it is about women overpowering men and being mean and aggressive towards males, and that is where the negative stigma has come from. Educated people know that this is simply not the case. It is not about bashing men or hating on men AT ALL. Maybe there are some radical women out there who do feel that way, but it’s just like with anything, there are going to be groupings of people that have extremist, negative, sometimes violent views and claim to be a certain religion or member of a certain club that has nothing to do with their actions. It happens all the time. (ex: Not all Muslims are bombing terrorists, but the ones who do bomb seem to set the stereotype for Muslims, which is sad.)

So what all is feminism about then? Feminism to me is about having freedom and rights that men have always had. Such as the right to do what we want with our bodies (ex: I would want an abortion if I were to be raped, I wouldn’t want the government to tell me I couldn’t), being able to vote and have higher roles in society (ex: CEO or president of a company), and fighting sexism in the workplace so that we can be paid what we deserve (ex: I don’t think men should be paid more for the same job a woman has and does well.)

I think feminism means something different to every woman, but it was never meant to have a negative connotation. I love males, I just want to make sure that I am always treated as an equal to males, since that is what I deserve. Be a strong woman, it doesn’t make you a “bitch”, it makes you stand out. So stand up for your beliefs, you don’t want them to be taken away. You have to fight for your rights!!!

This is a oil I found at Victoria’s Secret. I don’t have any dry skin, in fact it’s usually far from dry, but after I shave I like to put on lotion or something soft so that my skin isn’t itchy. This is a super soft formula and it’s not too greasy since it is a dry oil. It smells really good, like grape seed oil. Sometimes I will put it on me heels and then put on socks so it can absorb over night. I really like this product and would use it more if my skin needed the extra moisture.
