This is the month of red I guess! All the outfits I have posted for July have red. Hmm, and stripes too.. Lol, that’s weird! I totally didn’t do that intentionally. I love this outfit because it’s simple and sleek. The cami has a lingerie feel to it and the little dolphin shorts are appealing to the eye even though the stripes are horizontal. I can’t remember where the top is from, but the shorts are from Target I believe. The shoes are Coach and they’re super comfy. Funny story about this outfit actually. A few years ago I wore this top and the bottoms to the beach and went out to eat with my family. After the meal I was walking by the bar from the bathroom, and this creepy, grody drunk man at the bar grabbed me by my stomach. He tried to offer me a drink and I remember saying no way and telling him I was only 17! It was really unsettling to me, because I don’t think this outfit is too sexy or revealing and I was just wearing sneakers with it, so it was totally dressed down to me. Anyways, this outfit lives on and I won’t let anyone stop me! Remember: If anyone ever harrasses you, it’s not your fault for what you wear or how you act. It’s the other person who is being the creep. Don’t let creepy men discourage you from living how you want to live! People over-sexualize the female body, screw what everyone thinks and dress comfy and cute!!
This look was created by my friends Rita and Amber. First, Rita put a roller set in my hair and after it was dried, Amber strategically placed the curls into a romantic, bridal-esque updo. It was a lot like big pincurls, so they looked like flowers. Everyone enjoyed looking at it and after a couple days, when I took it down, people were sad that I didn’t keep it up longer. Good thing I am hard headed though, because there were over 100 bobby pins in my hair!!
Two pieces of hair were left hanging in order to frame my face in a feminine manor and give a less harsh vibe. Blue liner and nude lips from Marc Jacobs cosmetic line. Fur from Forever 21, striped shirt from Victoria’s Secret, boots are Black Poppy.
To keep this style the next day, I had to sleep with three hair nets, two cloth hairbands, and one scarf. It only felt uncomfortable to lay on one side, luckily, so I stayed very still on my other side!
I felt very Audrey Hepburn 🙂
It’s getting cold out which means more layers. You can be so creative with the layers you choose. I decided to pair stripes, animal print, and plaid. I stuck to neutralistic colors so that it wasn’t too busy. I kept warm and stayed stylish, and that’s what matters! Sweater is Worthington, sheer black shirt and leopard camisole from the Kardashian Kollection, and skirt by Candies.
I got my hair colored the other week. I waited a couple months before getting color so that I would regain some integrity within my hair. I think it worked because my hair doesn’t feel damaged from these newly lightened spots. After lightening some hair underneath my auburn hair, then I got some neon pink put on. The pink isn’t very bright, it came out as a pastel color, which is pretty so I like it. I already know what I want to do with it next though! I probably won’t keep it this way very long, but what’s new?! Lol.
I like old fashioned things like old movies and retro style inspirations. The 1950’s housewife updo with a bandana is a cute look that everyone should try. Even if it’s a modern twist on the look, it’s still fun to do and pretend to be Rosie the Riveter (Yay, equal rights!)
Shirt from Victoria’s Secret, bandana probably from Hot Topic. Urban Decay Electric eye shadow.
The other day I didn’t wear much makeup and I forgot to put much in my hair but I turned out looking better than usual. Lol. Funny how that happens. Fall is slowly but surely creeping up on us so I have to take advantage of the weather with skimpy clothes while I can. Tank is Kirra I think, and the board shorts are Dickies.
I’ve had my hair curled a couple times lately. Last week by my friend Emily and this week by my buddy Catalina. I didn’t think that the curls would stay very long in my hair because whenever I have had a modeling event, my curls have never lasted more than an hour or two. It might have something to do with the fact that the women and Leon’s who always did my hair before, did not use enough products in my hair or their products were not as nice as the hair supplies we use at my beauty school. These curls from the girls at my school have lasted for days!!! I get compliments on how well the curl holds even after I’ve slept on them a couple of nights! Straight hair is always my favorite because it’s natural for me, but it’s fun to change it up every once in a while. Comment below or like. Tell me what you think!
