These pretty things were on sale at Peebles and I had to bring them home immediately! I’ve heard great things about them and am excited to try them out. I’ll post a review later on.
Over the holidays I got a pair of flats, which I must admit, is a FIRST for me. I don’t believe I have really had a pair of cute flats since high school. I usually wear heels, wedges, boots with platforms, etc. The reason I finally broke down and accepted a pair of flats into my life is because these are special. What I mean is that these are not just any flat shoes! They are not only delicately beautiful and handcrafted with Italian leather, but they are also the only orthopedic flat shoes that I know about! Yes, they have arch support and are great for traveling, standing, any activity on your feet. I got these for work since I am a hair stylist, AKA: a slave to standing.
It snows here like once a year so I took advantage of this opportunity. However, I wouldn’t advise anybody to walk in snow with these babies unless you want frostbite. I’m sure the snow isn’t great for the quality of the genuine leather either! I will be sure to post a review of Tieks once I have broken them in and can accurately get a feel for what they offer my tootsies!
A few years ago I saw a few Furla purses at a shop beside the local movie theater. I should have gotten one, but I made the mistake of waiting, and by the time I thought about them again, they were long gone from the store! Luckily, this has been a good year for me in the world of fashion, I am reunited with Furla purses! This is my lovely ballet pink crossbody. Take a moment to bask in it’s glory!! The clasp on it is adorable and easy to open, it has that fantastic plastic-y smell, and it is a great size for concerts or a night at the club. Not to mention it is super shiny since it is cousin to the Furla Candy Bag, which I will be posting about later down the road. Stay tuned.
The hype is here. I finally decided to give Kylie Jenner’s matte lip colors a chance. As I stated a few posts back, I am in love with matte color and have divorced my glosses which I used to use religiously. Matte colors are simply more chic, they last way longer, and so they are worth it. So, what do I think of the Kylie Cosmetics brand?
I will say that I like them alright. However, out of all the brands I have tried, like Kat Von D, Tarte, and Too Faced, Kylie Cosmetics might fall into last place. This is because it seems to cake up a little bit, even when applied thinly spread and very carefully, and I have not had this issue with any of the other brands I mentioned. It feels a little too dry, making your lips feel very tight, which I have not experienced with other brands. The other ones I have tried are creamier. I also noticed that it doesn’t stay on as well as the others, after I eat I feel like a lot of it needs to be re-applied, whereas, I do not have to reapply my matte colors by Kat Von D or Tarte.
I have grown up watching the Kardashians and I am very fond of them and their half sister, even though I don’t approve of everything she may do in her life, that is neither here nor there. So I am a bit sad that it doesn’t have the same lasting power or smooth creamy kind of texture that I expected. If I wasn’t such an expert on the other top matte brands, I probably would love her product! I just know too much ab0ut the super great products out there, so it makes it sound harsh when I am discussing her line. It’s def. not the worst makeup product I have tried or anything, I was just a tad disappointed. I will still wear it, and probably learn how to better apply it to make it last how I want it to. Maybe I will find a way to keep it from flaking off.
I’ve tried the colors Posie K and Candy K. The color in these images is Posie K.
I fell for these bad boys the moment I saw them online a few years ago. I didn’t stumble upon them in person until the other month at the mall. I was searching through the dimly lit Hot Topic when I came upon these and I knew immediately that they were mine! They call these garters, but I don’t think of them as an under garment, because they are clearly fancy panty hose, if you ask me! And I would never hide them away.
Houndstooth shorts from Forever 21, same with the wedge sneakers, V neck from Victoria’s Secret, sweater by Crown and Ivy.
Jelly combat boots… If these aren’t the coolest shoes you’ve ever seen, then you’re a liar! See-through everything is my favorite. I have posted several jelly shoes on here so obviously I have a thing for rubber (they smell terrific!!) These adorable shoes by No Call are everywhere on tumblr and Pinterest so I was lucky to come across them IRL. I pair them with bright socks and brace myself for all the compliments. They are durable come rain or snow but they aren’t walking shoes. They aren’t super comfortable and if you don’t wear them with pants or leggings atop your socks, they will dig into your calf, quite sharply. Done the right way though, they are an epic masterpiece in fashion.
I’ve briefly talked about these shoes a couple posts ago. They are so awesome though, they deserve their own spotlight. These are made by the shoe company Alegria. They used to make bulky, matronly shoes that were so unattractive some people I know referred to them as Frankenstein shoes. Now they have stepped things up (no pun intended) and created a shoe that is not only as good for your posture as the old style but also appealing to the peepers! They are also slip resistant which is important for hair stylists like moi! I really, really like these booties and have been impressed with how comfortable they are. They take all the stress off of my feet, I barely have any tension at all anymore. I highly recommend these if you stand all day at your job!!
I recently discovered this hairspray because we sell it at work. If you like a really hard hold that you can feel, you’ll love it. I really like a stiff hold because I have really naturally soft hair and I like to feel like something is in there working! I keep my hair teased and high everyday, so it’s vital to have a super hard hold that won’t move. This stuff also makes your hair seem thicker, and it smells sweet as well!
One of my all time favorite materials would have to be suede. I love how soft and smooth it feels, a close cousin to the best ever material known as velvet. *Sigh* So I found out that I could be taking care all my suede shoes! It’s called Scotch Guard.
I wish I would have known about this stuff years ago since I have a ton of shoes that could benefit. Basically, you spray this stuff on (I wore a mask because it’s really strong and can cause you to get nauseous) and then you wait for it to feel dry to the touch and then re-spray. It will keep the delicate material from getting water damage so you don’t have to hide from snow or rain or maybe a mud puddle. Of course I still avoid wearing my nice soft shoes in those conditions, but now I don’t have to worry as much about a spill or something.
This product by Sexyhair promises thicker, fuller hair for up to 72 hours and a fresh fragrance that will last 24 hours. It really does make my hair look more voluminous, I’ve received several compliments on the fullness of my hair right after using this. The smell still lingers the next day, which most products can’t say. I just wish it came out in foam form so that it would be harder, I like to feel products in my hair, I know that some people don’t, but I like stiffness since my natural hair is so soft. This sprays out very liquidy and you will want to spray quite a bit to notice the affect. Don’t skimp on it and you will see a difference, just not as drastic of a difference that you would see with a foamy root pump, you can still use it at your roots though and throughout the shaft to see overall thickness.
