I got loads of compliments when I wore this to a friend’s birthday party. It was extra chilly out so this fit was thick enough to keep me warm enough by the fire pit. The girly hoodie with rhinestone chains is from Dollskill and as soon as I saw it, it was on my list!! The pants from SheIn are great quality, the best thing I’ve ever had from there! They fit perfectly, tie at the waist, elastic at ankles, and suspender like things hanging from them, very Gwen Stefani circa 1999.
I got this at the holidays and just now opened it to use it. This is an extremely chunky knit blanket that I have wanted for a few years. It’s very soft and delicate, you can’t machine wash this of course. I think animals and kids would definitely mess up this kind of blanket. It seems like it will snag on anything remotely sharp. It’s beautiful and goes great in our minimal bedroom. Adds a rich texture to the white bed spread and I like that it’s an off white color.
I love all the unique things on Dollskill, they have stuff that totally sums up my aesthetic. I always say I’m girly but eccentric, so I love an outfit that’s different, memorable, and has a zing to it!
This is Carebears for Dollskill line! I was so excited to snag this pink coudoroy jumper. There’s a reason that coudoroy means “cloth of the king”, it’s certainly a fine cut. It features the lovely face of a fuzzy Carebear at the bust. It hooks at the top like overalls, but since it’s a skirt, it’s much more comfortable and functional.
I paired it with a little mesh black and white checkered long sleeve from SheIn! Adorbs. Def a statement piece. Everyone having babies, but I am THE babe. Hehe. *Mwah* 💓💓💓
Wowie, was this sweater stuffie. It’s from Wildfox, which is known for pretty stylish sweaters. I wore it to a holiday party the other month, and I sure was sweating. I don’t recommend 100 percent acrylic like this unless it’s like twenty degrees out.
I love this sweater cause it’s cozy, neutral color so it goes with everything, and the rips and tears add the edgy depth that I require for my fits! I paired these lace up leggings from Rue 21, I don’t think they are still in business but I still have some pants that I adore from there.
I actually wanted to sell these boots and socks because I don’t get to use them much. This last January was a lot colder and had a few snow and ice storms though so I decided to use these green boots as my winter boots. I have pink glittery Hunter boots that are thinner and tighter, designated for rain, and I use them a lot!
I like that these boots have a strap to adjust them, they are really easy to put on and take off. The extra room inside allows for the thick fleece Hunter socks as well as a pair or two underneath. It’s very aestheticly pleasing how the top of the socks folds down over the boot and reveals a rubber logo. They worked awesomely! I didn’t expect them to keep out the cold, but they actually kept me so warm I was able to take a long walk around the neighborhood, trudging through snow and ice! I also stayed out in the back yard, stomping and sliding over the frozen patches. The bottoms have a nice tread, so I never even stumbled.
So I most def recommend Hunter. The boots aren’t super warm on their own so you need the socks, unless you’re just going to wear boots in rain and milder climate areas. Anyways, for now, these are staying off of my selling page!
This might be controversial, especially coming from someone who is child free and unmarried, but hear me out. (I’m practically married, we have been together 6.5 years)
I’m sure you’re sick of hearing about minimalist ideas because they are everywhere. I think they are all over the blogs and YouTube because it makes sense though. I used to deny it could be beneficial and thought people owning less was crazy talk. Just think about it though…
If you can get rid of nicknacks, extra decor, even pieces of furniture you hardly use (I’m looking at you, extra side table that’s been in the family for way too long!) you have way less to actually clean. Even if you have a bigger space, I live in a house that’s too big for two people, but it’s not overwhelming, because I put some simple systems in place..
1) If I’m tired of dusting around something, I move it, toss it, or sell it. This has led to a spacious environment, without any hidden dust. Yes, dust particles always seem to be around if you have trinkets and decor covering surfaces. I know because I have been there!
2) If we don’t use it and it’s not functional, we get rid of it. I just tossed the toaster because we haven’t used it in years, cause I don’t think it’s very sanitary.. I couldn’t seem to ever get crumbs out of it even after a deep clean!! I also recently got rid of the grill top, because we switched to grilling or frying atop the stove and invested in some very nice Le Creuset pans, making the grilltop useless. This is less stuff on the counters, less surfaces to clean, and less things in cabinets, making cleaning very quick and easy.
3) Every item that enters the house, has a place, usually hidden and secretly organized, so that there’s no extra mess. Clothes immediately go in the hidden hanging hamper, or under the table hamper in the computer room where my bf used to throw clothes on the floor! Because of implementing these out of sight sources to organize even the dirty laundry, there’s no clutter piled on the floor. This means people could come over at any minute of the day, and there’s nothing to pick up, which means hardly any maintenance to be done
4) Our bathrooms are counter free. Yup, it’s old school, sinks and back of commode realestate only, which used to feel odd, because I wanted a counter top to lay lipstick, brushes, and other clutter. I’m glad that these bathrooms are minimal design now, because there’s virtually no clean up. There’s a big linen closet inside each bathroom which is enough for keeping makeup, hair products, and anything else that most people lay out in the open on bathroom counters.
So unless you just love your house maid and can’t bare to part, you don’t really need a helper if you really follow the guidelines laid out above. Even if you have a lot of family members, or work long hours, just take some time to get started, jot down the system you want to implement, and you can do it!!
